New members are always welcome. We have individual and institutional members from nearly every state in the United States\, as well as from Europe\, Canada\, Australia and Japan.FANA offers an opportunity to meet other collectors who are just as interested in fans as you are. Together we can share information on the fascinating aspects of fan collecting and study. Our annual meeting\, called the Assemblage\, is held in a different location every year. Highlights of our Assemblages include Members’ Fan Exhibits\, the Members’ Fan Sale\, and a Fan Auction\, along with visits to area museums to see their fan collections. \nOur 2023 Assemblage was held in the Las Vegas and our 2024 Assemblage\, “The Art of Fans: California Style\,” will be held in Los Angeles\, California\, on June 26 – 30\, 2024. Visit the Assemblage web page for details and be sure to visit the Meetings & Events page for information about smaller regional gatherings across the U.S. \nWe are pleased to announce that Victoria Kastner\, author of Julia Morgan: An Intimate Biography of the Trailblazing Architect\, will be the keynote speaker for the Welcome Reception of the Los Angeles FANA Assemblage on June 26\, 2024. Miss Kastner was Hearst Castle’s official Historian for decades\, and has also written the definitive trilogy on the history of William Randolph Hearst’s grand estate at San Simeon: Hearst Castle: The Biography of a Country House\, with a foreword by George Plimpton; Hearst’s San Simeon: The Gardens and the Land\, and Hearst Ranch: Family\, Land\, and Legacy\, all published by Abrams Books. \nPlease join us Wednesday evening\, on June 26 at 6:00 p.m.\, for the Welcome Reception (Dinner included) of our Los Angeles FANA Assemblage 2024 and hear Victoria Kastner share with us details of the incredible “Fan Collection of Phoebe Apperson Hearst.” \nAgain\, please visit the Assemblage web page for more information. \n
