A woman of many firsts\, Morgan was the first woman admitted to the architecture program at l’École des Beaux-Arts in 1898\, the first woman in California to be granted an architect’s license\, and recently the first woman to earn the AIA Gold Medal for her pioneering achievements. \nJoin the ICAA and Victoria Kastner to for an illustrated lecture centered around her new book\, Julia Morgan: An Intimate Biography of the Trailblazing Architect\, published by Chronicle Books. She is a sought-after lecturer who has spoken at such venues as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the J. Paul Getty Museum. Ms. Kastner has a master’s degree in Public History with a specialty in architectural history from UC Santa Barbara\, and a master’s degree in museum management from George Washington University.
