Attending Oakland High School

Julia attended Oakland High School, which was only a short walk from her home on 14th Street. She was one of forty-six students in the class of 1890. Julia’s nephew, Morgan North, said that she excelled in math and science, as well as in athletics. She was also a talented violinist.
